Equine Massage Therapy

Tailored sessions to improve your horse’s physical well-being through a blend of specific bodywork techniques and massage treatments designed to promote muscle health, healing and increased mobility. The treatments also have a positive impact on the horse's circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems.

As well as massage playing an important role in the prevention of and recovery from injury. Massage also promotes the cleansing of toxins built up in the body and muscles during exercise, relieving tension and encouraging body awareness. Massage therapy treatments will increase mobility and flexibility and can often improve the quality and range of movement in performance. Through specific soft tissue manipulation techniques and strategic stretches, the treatments focus on loosening and relaxing the muscles, strengthening and improving the quality of muscle fibres, and releasing tension in the soft tissues of the horse’s body.

Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and incapsulates every muscle, every bone, nerve, internal organ and even the blood vessels. Because it is so integral to the bodies structure it has tremendous influence over the wellness of the entire body.

When thinking of bodywork and massage, we often simply think about the muscles or the musculoskeletal system. The reality is that tight (or restricted) fascial tissue may affect the health of any of the bodily systems. Ensuring that the fascial tissue remains healthy is an integral part of achieving balance and wellness.

  • Each horse is different as is their unique body confirmation and body symmetry, which means soft tissue stresses and strains develop differently in each horse.
  • Each rider also has different body confirmation and body symmetry which effects the balance of the horse when ridden and depending on the discipline impact how stresses and strains build-up in the horse’s body.
  • Each treatment is specifically personalised to each horse and their individual needs.

Each session, lasting approx. 90 minutes.
